Suzanne is a co-facilitator of the Islanded Grid Resource Center and the Community Energy Director at the Island Institute in Rockland, ME. Since June 2009, she has been supporting island communities in their efforts to better understand and confront their unique energy challenges through programming on energy efficiency, community-owned renewable energy, offshore wind, and energy education. A former seasonal resident of Monhegan Island, ME, Suzanne has a keen interest in supporting diesel-powered New England islands to move away from this costly energy source. Suzanne holds an M.A. in urban and environmental policy and planning from Tufts University and a B.A. in political science and international development studies from McGill University. Prior to working at the Island Institute, she served as Outreach and Development Coordinator at EARTHWORKS, an environmental advocacy and community support organization based in Washington, DC.
