Sean Skaling was appointed as Assistant Executive Director/Policy and Programs Director for Alaska Energy Authority (AEA) in May 2012. In this role, Skaling oversees the Alaska Renewable Energy Fund, AEA’s energy efficiency programs, the Emerging Energy Technology Fund, alternative energy programs, Power Cost Equalization program, AEA’s loan program, and policy, planning and outreach activities. Prior to this position, Skaling managed AEA’s energy efficiency programs starting in 2009, and previously served as the executive director of Green Star for a decade.
Skaling received his bachelor’s degree from Colby College and a master’s degree from the University of Colorado Boulder. He has lived and worked in Anchorage since 1996 and lived in Juneau prior to that. Skaling’s passion is providing energy programs that deliver clean and cost-effective energy to Alaskans, and to contribute to community strength and economic well-being.
